I explained that as he now drives his water truck through streets, knocking on doors…so we to have to go and knock on Jesus’s Door, asking Jesus into our mind and heart, we have to repent, turn and change from our sins and believe the Bible.  His brown eyes shone hope as he said "gracious senior." • FBI Warns Of Drug Cartel Arming

      • Cites Order To Hold Turf

      • Sara A. Carter (Contact)

      • Sunday, October 26, 2008

      • The FBI Is Warning that one of Mexico´s most brutal drug cartels is attempting to violently regain control of drug trafficking routes in the United States and has been ordered to engage law enforcement officers to protect their operations, according to an intelligence report obtained by The Washington Times.

      • Los Zetas, He Enforcer Of Mexico´s infamous Gulf Cartel, is reinforcing its ranks and stockpiling weapons in safe houses in the U.S. in response to recent crackdowns in the U.S. and Mexico against drug traffickers, said the FBI San Antonio Field Office’s Joint Assessment Bulletin. The bulletin was dated Oct. 17 and was sent to law enforcement officials in the Texas region.

      • The Bulletin Said The Cartel’s regional leader territory, or "plaza," in the area around the southern Texas towns of McAllen and Mission, about 235 miles south of San Antonio and less than five miles from the border with Mexico.

      • "In direct Response to recent United States law enforcement activities against Los Zetas members of the McAllen-Mission, Texas Plaza, Jaime Gonzalez, AKA ‘HUMMER,’ has ordered additional personnel to the Plaza to regain control and engage law enforcement officers if confronted," states the bulletin, which was produced by the FBI’s McAllen Intelligence Center.

      • "These Replacements are believed to be armed with assault rifles, bullet proof vests, and grenades, and are occupying safe houses throughout the McAllen Texas area," the bulletin states.

      • Richard Kolko, A Spokesman for the FBI in Washington, confirmed the authenticity of the report.

      • "The FBI, With Our Gang task force members are well aware of Los Zetas and their violent nature. A bulletin not intended for the media was provided to law enforcement throughout Texas to alert them of potential new tactics," he said.

      • Los Zetas Is Thought To Be Composed of former members of Mexico´s special forces who deserted or retired to work for the Gulf Cartel, a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) official familiar with the group told The Times. The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of ongoing operations in the area, said that Los Zetas is thought to have taken control of the Gulf Cartel’s operations.

      • Its Home Base In Nuevo Laredo, a Mexican border town about 160 miles southwest of San Antonio, has been brutalized by ongoing cartel wars and witnessed a surge of violence in recent years.

      • Recent Arrests By The FBI of several members associated with the McAllen-Mission plaza led to the information on the drug cartel’s intentions and on Mr. Gonzalez.

      • Mr. Gonzalez, Who Operates out of Reynosa, Mexico, about 10 miles south of McAllen and Mission, instructed his cells to "engage law enforcement with a full tactical response should law enforcement attempt to intervene in their operations" and also is "believed to have established loose relationships with street and prison gangs to facilitate their movement and operations within the United States," according to the bulletin.

      • An FBI Search Warrant on a rural location in Mission resulted in the seizure of multiple weapons including assault rifles, tactical vests, and an assortment of paintball weapons, which the Zetas have used for "regular paint ball training for tactical raids and car stops," the bulletin states.

      • According To The Bulletin, the "main responsibility of these cells" stationed in the United States "is to seek out people owing the Cartel money for lost, stolen, seized drug loads or profits."

      • Those People Are Forced to "either pay their debt or are kidnapped. In addition, the plaza cells are proactively seeking out and eliminating rival drug and alien smuggling groups," the bulletin states.

      • Since The Summer, Drug Wars have escalated along the more than 2,000-mile U.S. border with Mexico, with thousands killed.

      • Los Zetas, Continues To Control the drug routes in the south Texas area, which includes access to Interstate 35 and Highways 59, 359 and 83. The interstates run from south Texas to as far north as Canada and provide the drug cartels access to major U.S. cities, where they distribute billions of dollars in narcotics annually.

      • The FBI McAllen Resident Agency, a division of the bureau’s San Antonio Field Office, recently received the information that the Zetas have segregated the Rio Grande Valley area into tactical operational territories, or plazas, and "currently have standing orders to confront U.S. law enforcement agencies to zealously protect their criminal interests," the bulletin states.

      • Each Territory or "plaza" has a designated leader to oversee all enforcement operations conducted on behalf of the cartel.

      • Increased Pressure By U.S. and Mexican law enforcement has pushed the cartels "into a defensive mode," the DEA official said.

      • "These Particular Types of activities by the cartels show their increased strength and the serious threat they pose to the national security in the U.S.," the official said. "It’s not getting better but worse along the border. Unfortunately, the drug wars we’ve seen in Mexico are now spilling significantly into the United States."

Determinants of Borrower Default and Loan Restructure

The Mexico Mortgage Market Boom, Bust and Bail Out: Determinants of Borrower

Default and Loan Restructure After the 1995 Currency Crisis

      by

      Natalie Pickering

      Introduction

The Mexican government has struggled to curtail growth of bad bank loans since the

currency devaluation of December1994. The downturn in the economy precipitated a

banking crisis in which the share of non-performing assets grew to over 40 percent.

Individual residential mortgages comprise a large portion of the delinquent portfolio, and

have been a major focus of government intervention. In 1995 when the government began

aiding banks to restructure loans, half of the total funds available–an amount over US$7

billion–were directed to restructuring mortgage credits (Comision Nacional Bancaria y De

Valores [CNBV] 1996:2).1 Government aid to the mortgage sector grew to nearly US$18

billion by the end of 1996.2

This paper examines borrower choice to restructure mortgage loans under the initial

phase of the government relief program called “The Accord for the Assistance of the Banking

System” (Acuerdo de Apoyo a los Deudores de la Banca [ADE]). The ADE program was the

first in a series of government and individual bank relief programs aimed to stem payment

delinquency and default. Substantial controversy surrounded the ADE program. The

program was voluntary, but it offered borrowers an interest rate subsidy if they signed new

loan contracts and switched from peso denominated loans to loans denominated in an

inflation-adjusted accounting unit called “Units of Investment” (Unidades de Inversion) or

UDI’s. UDI’s were created as an alternative currency for accounting purposes to allow

financial products such as mortgage to maintain a constant purchasing power (real value) in

the face of inflation. The value of the UDI is published daily and grows in tandem with

      inflation.

      Summary and Conclusions

The currency devaluation that Mexico suffered at the end of 1994 set off a recession

and banking crisis from which the country has still not fully recovered. The housing market

has been one of the sectors most seriously affected. Despite attempts by the government to

aid banks and borrowers with mortgage loans, default rates have remained high.

The results of this study provide insight into why the ADE government aid program

failed between 1995 and 1996. Loan contracts that permitted excessive negative amortization

coupled with a decline in property values left many borrowers with negative equity in their

homes. With negative home equity, borrowers default to maximize wealth. Nearly two

decades of research on mortgage pricing have shown that default should be viewed as a

contingent claim attached to the mortgage contract. Lenders sell a put option when they

originate a mortgage that explicitly allows the borrower to relinquish the home at the price of

the mortgage. When the value of the outstanding loan exceeds the value of the house, the put

is in the money and a rational, wealth-maximizing borrower will default. Mexican mortgage

holders have largely responded, as financial theory would predict, by exercising the put

option to default on their loans.

The ADE program, by giving payment discounts, did not affect borrowers’ negative

equity and did not address the root cause of default. In fact, the results presented here show

that this policy decision was also regressive in that lower income borrowers were less likely

to participate in the program choosing instead to continue paying on their current mortgages.

High and medium income borrowers were more likely to default or to restructure and thus

receive the benefits of these discounts.

Many loans fell into delinquency subsequent to restructuring. Some claim that

because payments rose with inflation under the restructured contracts, borrowers became

delinquent again when they were unable to keep up with payment increases. Others point out

that the ADE program only provided borrowers with an opportunity to defer foreclosure, but

borrowers’ participation in the program did not represent a greater willingness to pay. Later

evidence suggests that many borrowers did restructure only to fall into delinquency again.

Foreclosure deferral was a plausible motivation for this behavior, but payment increases were

not. A more likely reason is that since many borrowers were still in a negative equity position

      31

following restructure, they were rationally exercising the option to default even subsequent to

      the ADE.

This is not to say that default was only brought on by negative equity. Borrowers

have suffered payment problems due to a decline in income under the old and new contracts

alike. In addition, the systemic rise in default has made foreclosure even more difficult for

banks. Moral hazard has plagued the mortgage market, creating excessive administrative

burdens for banks and courts alike. Many borrowers, recognizing that banks are unable to

possess their properties without an extended and costly court case, have chosen non-payment

as a means to obtain a discounted settlement with the bank. The results of this study would

suggest that higher income borrowers, who here show a propensity to default even when

holding positive equity in their homes, are more adept at receiving these discounts. Again

this leads to a regressive outcome for resolving the delinquency problem.

The results of this study point out that basic research on the causes of borrower

behavior in the mortgage market would have aided the government in designing a relief

program that better addressed the causes of default and benefited lower-income borrowers.

Direct discounts off the balance of the loan would have been a more effective policy for

stemming default and encouraging restructure. Eventually, nearly three years later, the

government did decide to support banks in granting such discounts through a program called

Punto Final. By this time, however, borrowers had grown to expect a new relief program

each time delinquency rose. Strategic default was well cultivated in the market making it

ever harder to attain positive results even from a well-designed program. Successive policy

failures, such as that of the ADE program, helped nurture a culture of non-payment. Only

better-designed policy initiatives t hat take into consideration the causes of borrower choice

      can reverse this trend.

      • Hi Norm, I really found it difficult to believe on…. As you say, who knows?

But in the mean while, I would like to buy gold or silver so my money will always be supported and valued on something that will never be de-valuated.

Today I have some other issues to solve like my imminent divorce, the custody of my 2 children’s, my mortgage (hipoteca) which by the way is in UDIS currency (deficit investment units), I crashed my car and now on I use a borrowed one, etc. etc. etc.

But never mind, there are difficulties …

God Through Christ Offers His Love To Us

      • For Instance, This Is What A Christian is all about. Afterward’s, when one accepts the "Lord"  and "His life" into one’s own. "That means letting the Lord be the Lord of your Will and then your everyday life." That then, is when the Lord’s Hand is upon the individual, in a new and totally different way of awareness within that person.

      • Possibly, We May Have To Suffer and endure hardship and lost, or if we are flourishing in  this life, we will need to be content with what we have.

      • The Point Is That God is with us no matter what the situation of life might be.

      • He Gives Strength To Continue, when life’s situations are the bleakest are strongest, Sadness or Joy.

      • He Will Enable Us to Be Steadfast, during the ordinaries of a mundane, daily in and out routine.

      • Humility, Will Accompany Us On the mountaintops of Glory and Exuberance.

      • Steadfastness And Spiritual Strength will escort us down again to the everyday’s of our lives.

Hi Rene, good morning, I hope you will have a good productive day!

Your Statements About the gold and silver investments, remind me of a story.

      In the past..

I Was In The Himalayan Mountains Between Burma and Thailand. I was the first Christian Missionary to go there. The people are of the tribe known as the "Mong." This people had never seen a white person, they would just stop everything, and stare at me in awe, when I was there living with them..

Furthermore, they never heard the name of "Jesus" or of the "Bible" or the word "Christian."

So for the next several months, daily, I would share from the Bible the beginning, to the end about God’s plan for Man.

Of Accepting "Christ" As Their Personal "Lord and Savior."

They were hinting in a strange sort of way, what where the benefit’s of converting to, and becoming a Christian?

I Shared With Them This, Rene.

The Important Thing Was They Would Have a Loving Relationship

      With The "Father" Through "Christ."

      Then…

First, God would help one to have a better relationship with their husband or their wife.

Second, God would help one to have a better relationship with their children.

Third, God would help one to have a better relationship with neighbors.

Fourth, God would help one to have a better garden and rice crop.

Fifth, God would help one to have a better  Water Buffalos, Cows, and Pigs.

Sixth, God would help one to have a better flocks of  Chicken, Geese and Ducks.

Rene, they listen intently, but, in the end decided to continue their Animist practices.

I was saddened at their response, however, my purpose is to share the Gospel story

so, I continued to share in the other two adjoining villages, that make up what is called the village of Naipabat Thailand.

When all had heard the story, and the plan of repenting,

turning from their sin’s, and their sinful ways,

and of accepting that Christ died on the cross, for their sins,

in order that man could now have a loving relationship with God again.

Rene, they understood the Bible story of Salvation for man.

Yet, Rene, they decided NOT to accept the plan of salvation.

I continued sharing Christ, and now Rene, years later that village has converted to Christianity, in total.

They have mucho good relationships with each other and others, along with mucho  pigs, chickens, cows and a flourishing  gardens.

Rene, their was no need for Gold or Silver,

"God" supplied to them, what they needed because?

Their Trust Was In The Lord.

Rene, again have a good productive day.

      "The Go."

      Oswald Chambers

      The "Go" of Relationship

Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two—Matthew 5:41

      • Our Lord’s Teaching can be summed up in this: the relationship that He demands for us is an impossible one unless He has done a super-natural work in us. Jesus Christ demands that His disciple does not allow even the slightest trace of resentment in his heart when faced with tyranny and injustice. No amount of enthusiasm will ever stand up to the strain that Jesus Christ will put upon His servant. Only one thing will bear the strain, and that is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ Himself— a relationship that has been examined, purified, and tested until only one purpose remains and I can truly say, "I am here for God to send me where He will." Everything else may become blurred, but this relationship with Jesus Christ must never be.

      • The Sermon On The Mount is not some unattainable goal; it is a statement of what will happen in me when Jesus Christ has changed my nature by putting His own nature in me. Jesus Christ is the only One who can fulfill the Sermon on the Mount.

      • If We Are To Be Disciples Of Jesus, we must be made disciples supernaturally. And as long as we consciously maintain the determined purpose to be His disciples, we can be sure that we are not disciples. Jesus says, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you. . ." ( John 15:16 ). That is the way the grace of God begins. It is a constraint we can never escape; we can disobey it, but we can never start it or produce it ourselves. We are drawn to God by a work of His supernatural grace, and we can never trace back to find where the work began. Our Lord’s making of a disciple is supernatural. He does not build on any natural capacity of ours at all. God does not ask us to do the things that are naturally easy for us— He only asks us to do the things that we are perfectly fit to do through His grace, and that is where the cross we must bear will always come.

It Is My Opinion, That This Is The One Single Biggest Downfall in Christianity Today.

      • Man’s Trust Is In His Own Strength To Accomplish Man’s Goals, you will of course, hear many arguments to the contrary, however, the fact remains, people are drawn to a ministerial personality more so than to the "Cross of self denial" and an absolute trust in the Lord in accomplishing all that is necessary.

      • A Person That Says They Are A Christian Needs only to ask oneself this question "Is Jesus Lord of my will? and then, Is Jesus, Lord of my everyday life?

      • If The Answer Is Yes, then you are in full time dedicated work for the Lord, if you answered 50/50 then you are lukewarm as a Christian.

      • The Lord’s Return Is Only For Those who are on fire for Him, your love for Him is in the daily practical application of the Plain Bible Truths In The New Testament writings of Jesus, and the early believers. These writings, which are based in the historical records  of the Old Testament and that now  are fulfilled in Christ in the New Testament.

      • It is the Bible, that is God’s instruction to man, not man made traditions of any denomination or group, there is only one group that is considered to be "Christians."

      • Those who are in fact, serving the Lord according the the doctrines of "Grace" which is plainly taught in the New Testament.

      • Old Testament Laws, with it’s additional inclusions, by man, and it’s many rules and regulations, have now passed into fulfillment in Christ Jesus.

      • The New Covenant of Grace, that the Lord Jesus talked about, His New Covenant, was in fact, the centerpiece of His teaching, at the Last Supper with His disciples.

      • The Old Testament Prophecies about the  coming Messiah and His New Covenant from God, is now to all that will accept, repent, and believe in Christ and His Resurrection power.

      • That Resurrection Power, Is For The Absolution of Man’s Sin’s, then presenting to God, the Father, this new creature, this new believer, to be sat in the heavenly places, by the power of the Godhead combined, "The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit." In fact, this is the Power of the "Christ’s" resurrection. In which we the believer of today have total access.

      • Christ Resurrection Power in Fact, removed through fulfillment, the necessities  of these Old Testament  rules, regulations, feast days, Sabbath keeping, they in total have passed away in fulfillment by Christ, and His Resurrection Power.

      • Now as Christ has said , if man will do but one thing, and this one thing only, all of every law, regulation, and traditions will be fulfilled by these very singular acts which are.

      • First: "To Love The Lord Thy God With All Of Your Mind, Heart and Soul.

      • Secondly: "To Love Your Neighbor As Yourselves."

      • This is the New Testament Christian Man and Woman That Christ Talks About.

      • "The Unsaved Jew," and the "The Unsaved Gentile"  to become one in "Christ"

      • "IN PEACE AND LOVE !"

      • "THAT IS A CHRISTIAN !"

      • God Does Not Build On Any Natural Capacity of Ours At All

      • God Does Not Ask Us To Do The Things That Are Naturally Easy For Us.

      • He Only Asks Us To Do The Things That We Are Perfectly Fit To Do Through His Grace,

      • And That Is Where The Cross We Must Bear Will Always Come.

      • Norman Oetker Missionary…Troy is the pastor that I asked, to help me during  my spiritual experiences, at this time in my life, for I had many concerns to say the least. At this posting, of this web site page in October 2008, Pastor Troy is still in this spiritual relationship with me.

My life has been forever blessed and strengthen, with His continual Spiritual support during these events, and also, during another tragic time, that being my divorce.

Perhaps, this was the worst intense emotional tragedy I have ever faced in my life, as  a Missionary, I had been devastated to say the least, by the divorce. I then thought things where coming to some sort of normalcy in my life, and then these events that I’m sharing below happened. God Knows.

My Mind, Heart and Spirit renewing.

      • Hi Troy, God’s blessing to you and yours and everyone at Messenger.

I would like to give you and update about Sandy.

I had first meet Sandy in July a year ago, at the prayer group in which my friends asked me to come.

It was only until the time of my divorce, that we began to talked to each other about establishing a relationship, my Mind, Heart and Spirit was lifted.

In just a short time, a miracle happened that was as dramatic, as the parting of the Red Sea. And it was, that one day while at my computer, I was thinking about the conversations, that Sandy and I had had.

I shared about my life with my family, and the calling as a Missionary to Thailand in the Mae Hong Son area.

She shared about her life, in St. Charles Missouri, and as I thought about these things then and afterwards, I could not see, this way or that way, in regards to how our relationship was to work.

And why was it so important to me, to understand? It seem just about every time, that I was around her I could not think straight, or if I wanted to say something, I would stumble around like a two year old and be in a cold sweat about it, but if I only saw her across a room, that in itself was worth it.

So as I sat there at my computer, I realized that I had fallen in love with her.

And I said to myself ‘ oh, no what am I going to do now.’

That was a miracle for me from God, for I truly believed, that I could never love again and it be real.

Sandy, she is totally different in every aspect, and at the core of her life was that she loved ‘Jesus’ more than life itself. As a Missionary I was blessed.

My Mind, Heart and Spirit were lifted.

      • In St. Charles Missouri  in April, she found out that her back pain was from two compressed fractures of her spine and two fractured ribs, the doctor said it was a hormone imbalance, and gave her the things to build and replenish her bone mineral content, the doctor said twice, that there was NO bone cancer.

It was then that she asked me to fix a couple things at her house, when I arrived she was on the couch and was unable to get up, her back was hurting her to bad, she had crawled to the bathroom.

Her 80 year old parents where there, but unable to help her, she was in severe pain, she asked me if I would stay and help her, she was really scared, or she was going to have to go to the hospital, I said sure, for the next three days I stayed.

I knew she needed care, because of the extreme pain, that I had suffered when  I had my crippling back injury. I knew all those signs and Sandy was displaying all of them.I made a pallet in front of her couch and slept there and waited on her.

As a Missionary to Mae Hong Son Thailand while on a return in the states, I had been paralyzed on the left side from the waist down from a work accident and I remembered exactly, the pain and suffering, that I had experienced.

I was 100 percent disabled through Social Security for 7 years.

In St. Charles Missouri, I had ben trained as male orderly when I was younger, I was able to help Sandy in everything, from teaching her how to row over, sit, and get up and out of bed by herself.

From that time on, I came to her house each day to help her, some days she was unable to get out of bed, other days she could go out for a couple hours, she tried to work also, she was part time at St. Charles Missouri Community College, she had been there for about five years.

In St. Charles Missouri she went to the doctor twice after that, and I was with her each time.

July, I asked Sandy to get blood work done, that was on a Monday July 11.

Thursday the 14th she was admitted to the hospital. Complete bone x-rays where performed from head to foot, blood work, CT scan’s, Bone scan’s, a Bone Marrow extraction, and after that, she was given two units of blood.

Since April, she had lost 31 pounds.

She asked me to be with her there at the hospital, the nurses supplied a fold out bed in her room.

      • Norman Oetker Missionary note Oct 08… as a Christian Missionary my Mind, Heart and Spirit were all for thinking, that God has His perfect Plan working even during all of this.

Our return to Mae Hong Son Thailand was as real to me then, as it is now.

June 20th was Sandy’s 56 birthday, in her room, at St. Joseph, in St. Charles Missouri, where gathered three of her adult children with their wife’s and friends, her mom and dad and grand kids.

      • The Doctor Came in and Announced the results of the blood work from the lab, in which all were waiting.

He stated she had a incurable cancer, that it was very rare and that it had advanced very rapidly. He wanted her to go to Barnes and be seen at Siteman Cancer Institute the next day in St. Louis, then the following day to start Chemotherapy in St. Charles Missouri.

He left the room, all where saddened at that bombshell, Sandy wanted to continue with the birthday party there in her room, we all sang happy birthday, when the cake was cut, the sparkle in the grand kids eyes was the only joy.

      • Norman added Oct 08... ( Norman Oetker my Mind, Heart and Spirit continued in one accord that day, believing that God would raise her up. As a Missionary, working in Thailand and the States, I had to continue to believe that my life up until this time, was with a firm belief in God’s power to accomplish all, just when I thought things were changing in my life I was crushed again.

      • I could not understand the why or purpose, on the outside to some, I might have seemed saddened and distraught, but truly my heart was stripped bare. After these events the real Missionary Norman Oetker was revealed to me, and I guess, it is easy now to say, that I simply gave up in God, I could not tell others, but inside I had a giant hole in my life, part of my life was removed, not just by this event which I described here, but by the divorce also.

      • The Birthday Balloon Floated in the Air Easily, undisturbed by the life changing statement just previously voiced by the senior cancer doctor, who in thirty years of practice had never actually seen this type of blood/bone cancer, he stated later, that in the national record there where only a couple of case papers only on this type.

The next day sitting with Sandy at the Siteman Cancer center at Barnes, in St. Louis Mo. this senior cancer specialist was going over her blood work notes that they had done, since our arrival that morning. He was saying a lot to us, but I guess I could say it came in five parts.

      • First, if nothing was done she would have weeks for survival.

      • Second, she would need to get through chemotherapy for the next two or three months.

      • Third, there was a very serious type of stem cell bone marrow transplant that could be tried from her siblings if there was a match.

This type of transplant is only done when there is no other option.

      • Fourth, Sandy’s insurance will have to give the ok for this type of transplant to be performed.

      • Fifth, this doctor said there is a 20 to 30 percent chance of a cure if the transplant works.

Norman Oetker… added Oct 08  My Mind, Heart and Spirit, my whole Missionary experience, from living in the Himalayan Mountains, to Mae Hong Son Thailand and other South East Asian Cities, being there, half way around the world, everything was so different and yet I adjusted.

Now In This Doctor’s Room, I was in a another real experience, however, I was unprepared, I was handicapped, I could not process this. I could only realize that this was in fact, a very dangerous valley for Sandy to go through. I just keep thinking, God wants me to be with her, and help in every way, that she/we will get through this, and will have a great life together serving our Lord later.

God Brought This "Christian Lady" into my life, to bless her and me, and to show me, that He can Heal the Broken Heart, somehow God will come through.

Sandy Needs a Lot of Care at This Time, her immune system is very low. I offered to her, to stay with me at this time, I had a two bedroom apartment here in St. Charles Missouri. She is very weak, after having a family meeting she let them know her wishes.

Her children will have keys to the apartment, so that they can be with her at anytime day or night.

Sandy’s first four day set of chemotherapy is over today, Sunday the 26th. The next set will begin, after a four day recuperation period.

Since she is with me, it is very difficult for some to understand being not married yet.

I will be turning in my ministerial credentials.

Troy, please continue to pray for us here in St. Charles Missouri.

      In Christ

Hi Troy, glad to get your mail. I kind of thought you were out of town, vacation etc.

The convention must have been exciting at different parts, were there any major changes or surprises? I would have liked being there.

Sandy is here with me, most of the time she is in bed sleeping, they have double her pain medication, she has finished her second round of Chemotherapy, there has been very little change.

She now has four compressed fractures in her spine and her ribs or a problem also, a enlarged liver, gall bladder, spleen and a mass in her stomach.

Sandy had said so neatly the other day, that "she will be healed," or "she’s going to Heaven."

      • Troy, I Thought Our Lives Were Going Towards a New Start in many ways, including the work and calling, the return and continuation to the mission work in Mae Hong Son Thailand.

Sandy is most definitely in my life at this time in my Mind, Heart and Spirit and her care, and concerns are a priority to me.

The Insurance has approved a bone marrow transplant ,from her brothers or sister if there is a match.

Sandy will need to get through a couple months of chemotherapy first.

Troy, we need a miracle, if she get’s through chemotherapy, there is only a 20 to 30 percent chance of survival from this type of transplant.

Please have her on your prayer list, this news all started on June 20th.

We have set up a medical fund to help with her medical bills at UMB bank.

Troy pray for me also, for strength and faith also the general contractor who I was working for as a sub contractor doing various finishing work is going out of business. I’m not working and need to find something.

Troy, thanks a lot for always pushing me in  "life’s huge sea" toward the light house, and that being ‘JESUS.’

      God’s Got a Plan Working.

      Love Norm and Sandy

Hey Troy, thanks for the reply, Sandy’s last name is …………

Sandy’s family are not involved in any church, there has always been family problems.

July 7, The family has now really taken charge of Sandy’s life, they have not liked the ideal of their mom being taken care of, and her needs being meet by me.

It is really a very sad situation, you think they would want their mom to be somewhat happy during this time, however they have made their mom choose.

Everything is very difficult for Sandy now, the pain medication is now doubled, and I know that it has and is affecting her and her thinking. I have explained that this is not what I want, however it is not getting through at this time. Her son’s have picked up all of her things here at my apartment, they are very kind and polite along with her mom and dad.

Troy, I know that God has good and perfect ways. HE wants me to have those things which bring into my life righteous, peace and joy also.

Troy, you are a witness for the Lord, you are very real, your love and devotion to Jesus is very real in your life and that has help me during this very difficult time.

This is again, a very difficult time for me.

Please pray for Sandy and her healing and then for me also.

      God bless you guy.

      Norm

Hi Troy, I would like to asked for prayer for Sandy again.

      July 17

I have been to the St. Joseph hospital this morning here in St. Charles Missouri, Sandy was admitted with Kidney and Liver failure on Friday, this morning she is in and out of it, however she kiss me and told me she loved me and then asked me to let her go to Jesus.

Troy, I just don’t know what to do, think, react or what. God will have to do something, for me to survive all of this, I am thankful for Sandy’s sake, that very soon she will be healed or she won’t be here to suffer any longer, but to be in that heavenly city.

      • Norman Oetker

Sunday July 17, after church I thought a lot about what had been said to me that Sunday morning the 17th, by Sandy, at the hospital, she said after she gave me a kiss, that she loved me and to let her go to Jesus, we prayed together and I left.

After Messenger’s evening service Sunday the 17th I took my time going back to St. Charles Missouri, for I wanted to speak to Sandy one last time in private, for I figured that at 10pm all would be gone. On arrival I saw that the room was full with her family, they were all waiting for her to die.

I asked the son how she was and he said she is just hanging on.

You could hear a needle falling through the air, it was so very, very quiet in that room.

I leaned over her bed and told her who I was and said, I love you baby doll and I want you to go to heaven and be with Jesus.

I said I will be with you one day, I love you and left the room.

Later that night a little before 3 am I awoke and I just knew she was gone.

The next morning I found it very difficult to go the hospital, I knew she was gone but not really sure, I was trying to be prepared for what I might face.

I entered the floor, and there was the male nurse that had worked with us before, he is and was so kind.

I asked him about her death and the medication that they gave her to ease the suffering, she did not feel anything and awoke in heaven. It all happened a little before 3 in the morning he said.

Sandy’s Family Had Left Sandy’s Pillow and the nurse asked if I wanted to take it. This pillow was a kind of joke between us, for she slept with it to ease her pain, in her fractured spine and ribs, the joke was about this being her security pillow.

I asked the family for the pillow, now when I hold it, it brings a peaceful comfort to me, I guess you could say ‘a little security.’

Sandy’s family called and said they would let me know her arrangements.

I’m just kind of numb now.

The 19th of July Sandy’s mom called and thank me for taking care of her and she apologized for the way the last week turn out.

Sandy went to Heaven the 18th of July, the funeral was the 20th and she was buried the 21st.

I Cannot Even Begin To Tell You the Pain, Grief and Agony at Her Lost In My Life.

I thought I had been destroyed by the divorce, but God brought Sandy into my life. She now is in the place we all want to be.

I have weep so much that it is difficult to go places for I had taken her everywhere.

I find tears will flow anyplace at any time, the ‘Why’ question is there always.

The Lord is so real now, so when you pray, pray for me, but more important, as Sandy wanted her family to be involved with God and His Christ, please pray for them.

      Norm

Update August 21, Mary Kay and I have been on a couple picnics, we both loved Sandy, we really enjoy each other. There is laughter again, a sense of the ‘why’ is moved to be blessed.

To all that read this, it is love, gentleness, kindness, humility, forgiveness, that was brought down from the third heaven, flowing with mercy, grace and love to my spirit, which changed my heart and mind, so that, what I desired could be and that was righteousness, peace and joy. ….Norm

      • As a Missionary Now In Reynosa Mexico Having English Class’s in my home, and who has served in Mae Hong Son Thailand. The writer Oswald Chambers has touched on many truths. The ordinary lives of Christians however these writings would seem foreign, they are so different, so removed, from what we as Christians hear across the pulpits of today.

      • Total Abandonment to Christ, is not the message of our rather mundane weekly Christian church  experience.

      • Oswald Chamber’s Comments Are, in fact, a continual revelation of our need for total surrender to ‘Christ,’ as our Lord.

      • As He States Many Times in His Writings "giving up the right to ourselves." This is the sum total of our relationship with Christ. Giving all of ourselves to Christ.

      • The Key To The Missionary’s Work in Reynosa Mexico, or in Mae Hong Son Thailand, or the Burma Refugee Camps on Thailand’s Border, or other places in the world, is the authority of Jesus Christ, not the needs of the lost.

We are inclined to look on our Lord as one who assists us in our endeavors for God. Yet our Lord places Himself as the absolute sovereign and supreme Lord over His disciples.

He does not say that the lost will never be saved if we don’t go— He simply says,

      • "Go Therefore and Make Disciples of All the Nations . . . ." He says, "Go on the basis of the revealed truth of My sovereignty, teaching and preaching out of your living experience of Me."

      • "Then the eleven disciples went . . . to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them" ( Matthew 28:16 ).

If I want to know the universal sovereignty of Christ, I must know Him myself.

I must take time to worship the One whose name I bear. Jesus says, "Come to Me . . ."— that is the place to meet Jesus— "all you who labor and are heavy laden . . ." ( Matthew 11:28  )— and how many Missionaries are!

We completely dismiss these wonderful words of the universal Sovereign of the world, but they are the words of Jesus to His disciples meant for here and now.

      • "Go therefore . . . ." To "go" simply means to live. Acts 1:8 is the description of how to go. Jesus did not say in this verse, "Go into Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria," but, ". . . you shall be witnesses to Me in [all these places]." He takes upon Himself the work of sending us.

      • "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you . . ." ( John 15:7 )— that is the way to keep going. Where we are placed is then a matter of indifference to us, because God sovereignly engineers our goings.

      • "None of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus . . ." ( Acts 20:24  ).

That is how to keep going until we are gone from this life.
