A Reply In Regards To “Works By Christians.”
I have been busy…in regards too your comments,… I would say “no,” I don’t think that was their motivation. As you know their are many groups going and building houses, and doing repairs, for the poor and needed. This is a denominational national program that the M——–do here, as well as in many other places.
I know the regional director who is the liaison for Mexico, and is the coordinator, for the folks coming into Mexico, this also includes, the medical and dental teams, as well as others.
I guess I wasn’t to clear in my earlier post. The point I was trying to make, that in all of the works that go on, Christ’s message of “Salvation,”
is placed on a back burner of sorts.
American Christians as well as the public tax dollar, by all of us, have helped millions and will continue to do so.
Christianity, I’m afraid, has tipped the scale in favor of works, as being the evidence of being a Christian. Yes, when one is born again, he or she does demonstrate works, however, those works cannot be a substitute for being a born a new by the Spirit of God.
Or those works, however good they are, are only those of a religious person, as his or her duty.
Again, most of the churches here have adopted an attitude, that the only way they can succeed is by “America” giving them what they need.
Where God -in their mind, and, the answer to all their problems and prayers,- is money from America.
This is a misnomer.
The Bible and it’s teachings are clear about asking God for help. On the contrary, and I must repeat, to the contrary, of many Christian believers, God doesn’t answer sometimes in the way that we would like.
Sufferings, pains, deaths, hunger, abuse is part of being a Christian also. When a love one, is dying before your eyes, in a ravaged, cancer eaten shell of an existence. God is still to be praised! from the highest mountain! When a child turns from the goodness of the Lord. God is still to be praised! In all things to praise the Lord! When all turn away, and hear not, the words of the greatest man that ever walked “Jesus!” yet, God, is to be praised!
Mexico’s problems are of Mexican origin, and they, the problems, if they are ever to be resolved, will be, by the Mexican people. Not by an endless stream of money.
